Trent University, one of Canada's best institutions, was created on the notion of participatory learning that is personalized, meaningful, and transformational.

Trent University's Peterborough campus features award-winning architectural style in a stunning naturalistic environment on the banks of the Otonabee River, just 90 miles from the city of Toronto, while the Durham GTA campus in Oshawa is located 40 minutes from the city of Toronto.

Trent has been named Ontario's top undergraduate institution for the past 11 years in a row. Within two years of graduation, 92 percent of Trent graduates were employed. Within six months, 93 percent of Trent graduates were employed.

At Trent, there are two Nobel Prize winners. For his efforts with Doctors Without Borders, alumnus James Orbinkski '80 was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. Professor Chris Furgal was a co-winner of the Nobel Peace Prize for his work in increasing awareness of anthropogenic climate change.

Intake Dates

Trent University has three intake semesters; fall, winter, and summer. University accepts undergraduate applications until July 1 for the fall semester, November 12 for the winter semester, and March 1 for the summer semester. The application dates for postgraduate programs are program-specific.

Country specific requirement

Sri Lankan General Certificate of Education Advanced Levels. A minimum grade of C is required in four A-level subjects.

English proficieny requirement

  • Overall, 86 IBT with a writing score of minimum 20 or 580 PBT with a minimum TWE score of 4.5.

  • IELTS: 6.5, with no band below 6.0

  • The Duolingo English Test: 115

  • Pearson PTE: 59

  • CAEL | CAEL online (starting July 2020): 60

  • C1 Advanced (Certificate of Advanced English) by Cambridge Assessment English: ‘C’ Grade

 

Any overseas applicant whose English proficiency score is lower than Trent's recognized scores may qualify for admission through the Trent-ESL: English for University Program.
